What is a house? When you look up into the sky at the universe from the exact time and point at which you are standing, a chart is composed from that point dividing the 360 degrees of the sky into twelve equal size regions beginning from the eastern horizon. Those twelve equal areas are called houses. Through this ancient study we learn that the place in which the planets and stars are situated within these twelve houses, can be analyzed to determine what effect they will have on an individual’s life.
The following are a few examples of what a house represent as far as the body. Houses one through seven refer to the right side of the body and houses eight through twelve refer to the left side of the body. Each house is 30 degrees and affects differents parts of the body. The first house represents you as an individual. This house is very important in your overall health, longevity, and skin. The second house is important for the face, the right eye, and the speech. The third house, represents the right ear and shoulders. The fourth House represents the lungs, breasts, and chest area. The fifth house represents the heart, upper abdomen, liver and gallbladder. Another important aspect of the fifth house is problems in pregnancy. For example, someone with a weak fifth house, will likely have few children, difficulty in becoming pregnant, and recurrent miscarriages. If we are able to see this problem when someone is younger, it can be addressed before they become too old to have children. The sixth, eighth, and twelfth houses are strongly indicative of diseases and considered unfortunate.
By knowing this in advance, the possible health risk present can be minimized and addressed according to diet, meditation, and other health enhancing practices. If a disease is already present, medical astrology can help determine if the current treatment will be successful, if other options are better, or determine the risk of side effects, and many other things.
